UNDATED -- Farmers who are looking to rent out their land next year are invited to a workshop to help determine what is a fair rental agreement.

The University of Minnesota Extension Office will hold workshops across central Minnesota in the coming weeks to help farmers with resources in negotiating fair prices.

Ag Business Management experts will provide fact sheets, current farm land values and sales, worksheets, and rental rate trends. The worksheets will examine 2017 costs and what is affordable rent a farmer will be able to pay, the rate of return to the landlord at current market values, and examine flexible rental agreements.

The meetings will be held at Long Prairie City Hall Monday at 9:30 a.m. and the Cornerstone Restaurant in Melrose Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Meetings will also be held December 9th at the Morrison County Government Center in Little Falls at 9:30 a.m. and Foley City Hall at 1:30 p.m.
