ST. CLOUD -- It was a great day for fitness enthusiasts of all ages today at the Earth Day Run's health and fitness expo.

Hundreds of adults and kids came out to Halenbeck Hall for the event that featured over 30 vendors with booths offering various health-related products and services.

Expo Coordinator Mark Boettcher says it was a good turnout.

"All the different parts of the community that are coming together [is] really great to see," Boettcher says.

The expo offered numerous activities for children, as BLEND (Better Living Exercise and Nutrition Daily) brought several games and inflatables for the kids' enjoyment.

"Any time you get inflatables going for kids, they love that," Boettcher says. "They'll jump right in there and go until you pull them out, so it's a great event for them too."

Outside, on a sun-drenched Husky Stadium, over 200 children from local Kidstop programs had the opportunity to run a 1k race and take home a medal.

"The kids are really excited," says Kidstop Director Geri Bechtold. "Just seeing the excitement in them coming across the finish line and the medals they got -- I don't think they expected to get medals -- was the best part for me."

The night ended with another 1k run for kids and a 5k run for adults. The Earth Day Run half-marathon is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Halenbeck Hall.
