Kids Fighting Hunger of Sauk Rapids has organized an event, 'We Are Thankful,' to aid the Lamia Afghan Foundation as they are in need of food.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Volunteers are needed to participate in two hour sessions to package "hunger packs." Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kids Fighting Hunger warehouse in Sauk Rapids.
Their goal is to package 30,000 meals and it will be immediately shipped to Afghanistan for distribution. Each volunteer is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to aid in local hunger efforts.
