Additional Information

Small But Noteworthy is a two-day art event that will take place in Little Falls, October 26 -27, 2018, featuring small artwork, poetry, spoken word performances, and more. The theme is “Small Art. Big Ideas.” With visual art (9x9” or smaller), poetry, spoken word, hip hop performances, open mics, and food, the community is celebrating what small can mean.

“This idea came out of the desire to bring people to Little Falls, midwinter,” says Jeub, who had a pilot version of the event last February. Having started with only 4 venues, it has grown to more business locations due to the community-focus of the event. Participating venues include Great River Arts, Tony’s 1st Avenue Custom Framing, Heijeu Book + Art, Sprout Marketplace, Turquoise Turtle, The Shoppes of Little Falls, Zoomski’s Midtown Cafe, Starry Eyed Brewery, and Elliott’s Tattoo. More venues are welcome to participate.

Special events are scheduled throughout the two days, with free workshops, make-and-take activities, art exhibits, a ukulele jam session, and open mic events for both musicians and poets.
Friday, October 26, activities include a storytelling workshop with Amy Salloway, “What is Spoken Word?” with Cynthia French, an art crawl form 4-7pm, and a hip hop performance with Desdamona and DJ Kool Akiem (ticketed). Saturday, October 27, activities include “make and take” with visual artists (varied locations), a poetry open mic (2pm), a Ukulele Circle (4pm), and a spoken word performance featuring Desdamona, French, and Salloway. A full schedule is available for download on the website and on the Small But Noteworthy Facebook Page.

Visual Artists are coming from all over the country, featuring work that is small and affordable. Artist descriptions and locations are regularly shared on the Facebook page.
