ROCK FOR ALZHEIMER’S – What’s your story?
St. Joseph, MN, Saturday September 24th, 2016 - In conjunction with the Alzheimer’s
Association / Walk to End Alzheimer’s Saturday morning September 24th in St. Cloud,
join the Bobby Vee and Irene Linn families at Bad Habit Brewery for music and brews and
continue to raise awareness and funds for much needed Alzheimer’s care, support and
research.
Irene Linn of Avon, MN, a widowed mother of five boys, was diagnosed in 2009 at 58
years of age. 60’s singing legend and central Minnesota native Bobby Vee was
diagnosed in 2011 at age 67. Both of these families continue to fight courageous battles
alongside their loved ones. Unfortunately, these battles always have only one outcome.
With the continued support of communities across the nation and the world, we hold out
hope that some day this will change. Everyone has a story… Please come share yours
and join the Linn and Vee families in an effort to help end this horrible disease.
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of
death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease
will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond today’s estimated 5.4 million Americans
living with Alzheimer’s.
From 1:00PM to 8:00PM, Saturday September 24th, music will include performances by
veteran local rock and roll bands Slip Twister, Collective Unconscious, Walter’s
Wheelhouse and The Killer Vees. Goodwill donations will be accepted at the door in
addition to proceeds from food and beverage sales being donated in support of the
cause. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available and all ages are
welcome.
