Jingle Bell 5K and 1K Family Fun Run Will Again Support Local Toys for Tots
ST. CLOUD, MN – On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 19th, St. Cloud Orthopedics will host the 19th annual Jingle Bell Run. Registration runs through race day for both the 5K and the 1K Family Fun Run. The event, which raises money and collects holiday gifts for the Central Minnesota Toys for Tots organization, is expected to draw about 500 participants.
“Last year was the best outcome in terms of participation, and we are looking forward to similar numbers this year,” said St. Cloud Orthopedics Clinic Administrator Bill Worzala. “I’ve noticed the same groups coming out for the run year after year and it’s amazing to see how many people make this part of their holiday tradition.”
The toys collected through the Jingle Bell Run account for one third of all the toys donated locally to Toys for Tots, which stay in the Central Minnesota community helping local families in need.
“This event is an annual reminder that there are many different ways to help the people who live in our community. Our clinic has been operating in Central Minnesota for over 60 years and we’ve always been committed to helping our neighbors,” said Worzala.
Participants can register online through race day on November 19th, but early registration —which ensures participants receive an event T-shirt—ends on November 6th. The 1K Family Fun Run for all ages begins at 8:45 a.m., followed by the 5K run/walk at 9:00 a.m. Participants can get a discounted registration fee by donating a new, unwrapped toy for kids 18 and younger.
