Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Eugene “Sonny” C. Worster, age 85, who passed away Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Tim Baltes will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church in Sartell. Sauk Rapids American Post #254 and Sauk Rapids VFW Post #6992 will pray at 6:00 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Eugene “Sonny” Worster was born May 22, 1929 in Ft. Dodge, IA to Lloyd & Amelia (Stickling) Worster. He was raised in Iowa and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Gene was a truck driver until he moved to Minnesota and worked for Franklin/Frigidaire for 27 years, retiring in 1994. He also drove school bus for Trobec’s. He married Lois Erickson and they later divorced. Gene married Carolyn (Scherer) Nohner on March 25, 1989. Gene was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 and Sauk Rapids VFW Post #6992. He enjoyed snowmobiling, watching the history channel, politics, camping, traveling, and watching the Twins and Vikings. Gene was an intelligent, strong willed man.

Survivors include his children, Wayne Tinglove of Texas, Arlinna Wolfe of Nevada, Becky (Duane) Klebs of Sartell, Donald (Brenda) Kissinger of Sauk Rapids, Mary Lu Stephanie of North Dakota, Lori Ring of Holdingford, Thomas (Betty) Kissinger of South Carolina, Susan Kissinger of West St. Paul, Lona (Jim) Masters of Missouri, Charlette (Morgan) Randall of Colorado, and B.J. Nohner of Rice; sister, Beverly Ferkins of Emmetsburg, IA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn on Sept. 21, 2005; sisters, Yvonne, Eunice, Madeline and Patricia; and brothers, Jack, Curtis and Clinton.
