Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Eugene F. Sieben, 94 of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday at Country Manor in Sartell. Rev. Mark Innocenti will officiate and burial will be with full military honors at the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church in Waite Park. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home followed by the Waite Park American Legion Post 428 ritual at 6:00 p.m.

Eugene Francis Sieben was born on July 6, 1920 in St. Cloud to Oswald and Susan (Unger) Sieben. He grew up in Sauk Centre and later joined the United States Navy in 1945. Eugene served on a cruiser ship, the USS Chester and others. On October 11, 1952 he married Dolores Theisen Surma at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. They had eleven children. The couple built a house in St. Cloud and as their family grew they moved to a farm on the edge of town. Eugene was employed by Franklin, later known as Electrolux, until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed farming, working on vehicles, the outdoors, hunting and was an avid fisherman.

Eugene is survived by his children, Robert (Joyce) of Avon, Rita Sieben of St. Cloud, Denise Irish of St. Cloud, Tom of St. Cloud, Elizabeth Harker of St. Cloud, Pauline (Jim) Anderson of Royalton, Raymond (Denise) of Royalton, Dennis (Annie) of Milwaukee, WI, Joseph (Angie) of St. Cloud and Christine Sieben; 32 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers David of Omaha, NE and Donald of Savage and sister Helen of New London. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores in 2008; son Eugene, Jr. in 1995; parents; brothers, Norman and James; sisters Lorraine Meier and Patricia Jelinski and son-in-law Cecil Irish.
