Elk River Economic Development Director Picked To Grow St. Cloud Business Sector

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud has a new Economic Development Director.

Mayor Dave Kleis picked Catherine Mehelich to head up the newly created Economic Development Authority.

Mehelich is the current Economic Development Director in Elk River. She outlasted 61 other applicants and was chosen among three finalists for the position.

Mehelich says the job description is what attracted her. She also served as the HRA Director in Elk River and is looking forward to focusing solely on business development.

Mehelich grew up in Sauk Centre and graduated from St. Cloud State University.

She starts her new job June First.
