A private memorial service will take place for Edwin “Ed” I. Palmquist, 76, of Foreston who passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.

Ed was born on August 10, 1939 in Milo Township to Ivar G. and Tonny (Mikkelson) Palmquist. He married Deloris Barnes on August 27, 1960 in Milaca. Ed grew up and farmed on the family land for most of his adult life until acquiring a truck driving position for Patnode Trucking. He retired from driving truck in 2013. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church in Milaca and believed strongly in his faith. He enjoyed working and would take little time off for deer hunting in the fall. Ed was humorous and had a welcoming personality. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deloris of Foreston; children, Kim (Ken) Jordet of Frazee, Gary (Robyn) of St. Francis, Betty (Dan) Stellmach of Foley, Donna (Jay Taylor) Palmquist of Shoreview; sister, Grace Mark of Grant Park, IL; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Louie, Gene, and Nels.
