UNDATED - Thousands of kids will be heading back to school this week.  AAA is offering us some tips on making this a safe school year.

First, AAA reminds us to slow down, speed limits in school zones are reduced for a reason.

Eliminate distractions, children can cross the road unexpectedly and suddenly.

Back-up responsibly, check for children on the sidewalk, driveway, and around the vehicle.

Talk to your teens, car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in the U.S.

Come to a complete stop, research shows that more than one third of drivers roll through stop signs.

And watch for bicycles, slow down and allow for at least three feet of passing distance between your vehicle and the bike.
