FOLEY -- Cracked sidewalks, patched streets and old street lighting once consumed downtown Foley.

The city recently started construction on 4th Avenue North and it has made parking a challenge. Customer Elation employee Lynette Penly says it has been hard to find a parking spot so she gave up on driving to work.

"It's made parking difficult, I now have to walk to work which isn't bad I don't live far away, it's more I'm used to driving to work even though it's short drive, on rainy days I have to park farther away," says Penly.

Executive Director at the Central MN Arts Board, Leslie LeCuyer says the project includes many changes.

"It'll be all new infrastructure, the sewer and water lines which were also in need of repair, says LeCuyer.

The project also includes newly paved sidewalks and decorative street lighting.

Despite the construction LeCuyer says business is still booming.

"We have a three screen cinema and they had a sold out audience when the Secret Life of Pets came to the town."

The project is scheduled to be mostly completed by the end of September with the the final paving of 4th Avenue North scheduled for June 2017.
