UNDATED -- The Minnesota D-N-R is looking for hunters who will be willing to help teach kids as part of the new "Field Day" requirement in their safety certification course.

DNR Enforcement and Education Coordinator Mike Hammer says they are now offering a safety course on CD.  Hammer says the DNR will train hunters to be instructors as they take the kids out in the field for the "hands-on" portion of the course.

Hammer says members of sportsmen's clubs or shooting ranges would make a good fit. But, he says they are looking for any responsible and ethical hunter who is 18-years-old or older.

To learn more, call the DNR's Camp Ripley Office at 800-366-8917.
