Dist. 742, Watkins Reach Tentative Contract Extension

ST. CLOUD - Bruce Watkins will continue to lead the St. Cloud area school district for a while.

Watkins has agreed to a tentative contract extension that will take him through June of 2013.

The contract will increase his salary by 2.15% to $166,500.  Including benefits, the contract is worth about $197,000.

Watkins was the district's superintendent from 2005 through 2008.  In 2010 he agreed to come out of retirement and come back to the district.

The school board is scheduled to discuss the contract at tonight's (Thursday) meeting, and they're expected to vote on it next month.
