ST. CLOUD (AP) — Democrats have endorsed Joanne Dorsher for the vacated House District 14A seat at a convention that was closed to the public.

The convention on Saturday was at the St. Cloud Public Library.

They decided to make the highly unusual move of closing the convention because they were worried about a "Republican tracker." Trackers are operatives from an opposing party who follow candidates with recording devices in hopes of recording a gaffe.

Dorsher was the only DFL candidate who filed to run in the Feb. 12 special election. Tama Theis is the Republican candidate and Todd McKee is the Independence Party candidate.
