Daughter Pleads Guilty to Helping Father Dispose of Body
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minneapolis woman has pleaded guilty to helping her father dispose of his girlfriend's body.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says 26-year-old Rachel Lee Thompson pleaded guilty Monday to being an accomplice after the fact.
Thompson entered her plea on the day her trial was to begin. She is expected to receive probation instead of prison time when she is sentenced on March 4.
Her father, Walter Thompson III, was sentenced last year to almost 34 years in prison for killing his girlfriend, 46-year-old Nerissa Shaw, and dumping her body behind a building in St. Louis Park. Her body was found in September 2013 in a wooded area.
Police say Shaw's body was wrapped in a sheet and had injuries consistent with a severe beating.
