ST. CLOUD - The MN Highway 23 Crash Reduction Project is showing major signs of success in the first half of 2017.

The project is a partnership between the Bentons County Sheriff's Office, Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office, Foley Police Department, Milaca Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The project was designed to decrease fatal crashes along Highway 23 between St. Cloud and Milaca.

Halfway into 2017 authorities have made 685 traffic stops and reduced crashes by 44% from the same time last year. Crashes that resulted in injuries were down 55% with no serious injury or fatal crashes.
