MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - Concordia College is moving its annual Christmas concert off-campus this year because of concerns about the snow load capacity on the roof of Memorial Auditorium.

School officials said Thursday the concert will be held in the Fargo (N.D.) Civic Center.

Last week school officials notified students, staff and faculty about concerns about the roof and its ability to handle uneven snow loads.

In order to ease pressure on the roof, speakers, band shells and scoreboards were removed from the auditorium. Those changes also altered the acoustics in the auditorium.

Concordia's Christmas concert is now in its 87th year.  Reports say that in addition to the venue change, the concert has been pushed back a week later than scheduled to Dec. 13, 14 and 15.
