Clyde H. Niemi, 75

Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker for Clyde H. Niemi, age 75, who passed away Wednesday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Pastor Donald Salo will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home in Becker. Clyde was born March 12, 1941 in Esko to Hjalmer & Aili (Friski) Niemi. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Clyde married Jean Helmer on Feb. 19, 1966 in Duluth. He worked as a millwright for U.S. Steel for 30 years. Clyde enjoyed fishing, golfing, running and biking. He loved working with his hands, including woodworking, building the family’s first house and most recently rebuilding his 1965 Triumph motorcycle. Clyde was a good father and husband, loving and caring, and always there when needed. Survivors include his wife, Jean of Becker; children, Loren (Ngan) Niemi of Hanoi, Vietnam and Denise (Mike) Galvin of Maple Grove; brother, Kenneth (Sandra) Niemi of Esko; and grandchildren, Luke and Joshua Galvin. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott; and brother, Donald.
