City Starts Taking Down Homes In Preparation Of University Drive/5th Avenue Roundabout

ST. CLOUD -- You probably have noticed workers taking down houses along University Drive and 5th Avenue South.

The work is in preparation for the roundabout construction at that intersection. However, City Engineer Steve Foss says work on the actual intersection won't happen for awhile yet.

Foss says the plans are in the hands of MnDOT yet and he's unsure when they will be approved and returned to the city.

Foss says because state dollars are helping pay for the project, MnDOT has to sign-off on the plans.

The project is expected to get underway in earnest at the beginning of July.
