ST. CLOUD -- A Macon, Mississippi man is set to be arraigned this morning for allegedly shooting a Press Bar employee early Saturday morning.

24-year-old Cordney Holmes has been charged with second degree attempted murder and first degree assault.

Holmes is accused of firing six shots at the bar employee after he was asked to leave. According to the criminal complaint, the employee told Holmes and two underage girls to leave the bar after Holmes was seen providing them alcohol. Once outside, Holmes allegedly took out a .38 caliber pistol and fired six shots, hitting the employee three times, twice in the abdomen and once in the hand.

Holmes fled the scene and was tracked to an address approximately three blocks away. Police found a discarded orange sweatshirt and a handgun in a nearby snowbank. Holmes was arrested and taken to jail.

The bar employee underwent abdominal surgery and is expected to recover.
