Cathedral Baseball Downs Blake To Advance In State Tournament [AUDIO & VIDEO]

 

The Cathedral baseball team defeated the Blake School of Minneapolis 5-1 this afternoon to advance in the Class AA State Tournament.  Today’s game is the quarterfinals at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.  Cathedral scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning and Jeff Fasching threw the complete game with just 1 run allowed and 11 strikeouts to get the win.  Steve Neutzling had a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1 before Brindley Theisen and Tom Imholte singled in runs in the 3rd.

Brady Yoerg had 2 hits and Jeff Fasching added a triple for Cathedral.  The Crusaders improve to 25-1 and will play either Delano or Glencoe-Silver Lake at noon Friday at Dick Putz Field.
