The Minnesota Pheasant hunting season starts Saturday at 9 a.m. and goes through January 1st throughout the state. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. He says this is one of the traditional openers that draws a lot of interest from hunters.

The Sartell-St. Stephen girls soccer team is unbeaten at 14-0-1 as they start the postseason today at home against Moorhead. The Sabres are seeded #1 in Section 8-3-A and will host the 8th seeded Moorhead Spuds at 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Waite Park Police is reporting a couple of stolen bikes. Alicia Mages from Tri-County Crimestoppers joined me on WJON. She says both bikes were outside of businesses. One of them was taken on the 100 block of Waite Avenue South.
Stearns County is expecting a record amount of jury trials in 2022. That according to Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall. She joined me on WJON. She explains the reason for the record is a combination of a backed up amount of trials for the best two years and more cases going to trial from incidents happening this year.
The Vikings improved to 4-1 after posting a 29-22 win at home over the Chicago Bears Sunday. The win was secured when Vikings defensive back Cameron Dantzler took the ball away from Chicago receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Smith-Marsette was cut by the Vikings just over a month ago and picked up by the Bears.
Catholic Community Schools is bringing a different approach to teaching and learning within their school system. Catholic Community Schools Director of Teaching and Learning is Sara Michaelson. She says Catholic Community Schools is committed to achieving academic excellence.
Duck hunting season resumes in the central and southern zones and continues in the northern zone this Saturday. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. Glen says the cooler weather will push some ducks and geese out of Central Minnesota but more will come in from northern Minnesota and Canada.
The Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation is accepting nominations for awards recognizing the good work of first responders who serve communities in Benton, Sherburne and Stearns counties and other advocates of public safety in the great St. Cloud region.
