Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter agreed to restructure his contract and will attend this week's minicamp and will be at training camp on time. He says the Vikings could go from having one of the worst defensive lines in the NFL to having one of the best with the additions of Hunter, Michael Pierce, Dalvin Tomlinson and Sheldon Richardson.

The Twins lost 14-3 at home against Houston Sunday. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Twins signed Randy Dobnak to a multi-year contract in the offseason and see him as a guy who could be useful in both a starting role or out of the bullpen.

The St. Cloud Rox notched their fifth straight victory in a contest against Eau Claire, while the Minnesota Lynx and Twins both made their way back to the win column as well.

The St. Cloud Rox dominated in another home matchup against the Duluth Huskies to notch their fourth straight win, while the Minnesota Twins blew an early lead and lost to the Houston Astros in game one of the weekend series.

The Twins rallied to beat the New York Yankees 7-5 Thursday night to salvage the final game of the 3-game series. Star Tribune Sports Columnist says the Twins hit two of the longest home runs ever hit off Aroldis Chapman to come from behind to beat the Yankees. Souhan says this could be the type of win that gets the confidence going.

He says 2nd baseman Jorge Polanco looked aggressive at the plate and powered a pair of home runs. Miguel Sano had 3 hits including a home run Wednesday night.

The Vikings' defensive end Danielle Hunter has expressed interest in a new contract. The Vikings haven't done much to acknowledge his concerns but it could be coming to a head. The Vikings have agreed to sign free agent cornerback Brashaud Breeland over the weekend. The 29-year old started 32 games over 2 seasons including 6 postseason games for the Kansas City Chiefs. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan says this is a significant signing he expects the pecking order at cornerback to start with Cam Dantzler, Breeland, Mackensie Alexander, Jeff Gladney, Patrick Peterson and Tye Smith.
