Minnesota Boys Hockey Tournament Sets Attendance Record

The Minnesota boys state high school hockey tournament has set an all-time attendance record. Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota State High School League announced that the two-class tournament, which concluded on Saturday night, drew a total of 135,618 fans.

Newbill’s Buzzer-Beating 3 Lifts Penn State Past Minnesota

D.J. Newbill pulled up and calmly swished a 3-pointer at the buzzer, giving him 31 points to lift Penn State to a 79-76 victory over Minnesota on Sunday. The Big Ten's leading scorer went 11 for 22 from the field, including 5 for 11 from 3-point range, to snap a six-game losing streak by the Nittany Lions (16-15, 4-14) with his dramatic finish.

Joe Mauer and Eduardo Escobar each hit run-scoring doubles to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.
