SAUK RAPIDS -- The first of Sauk Rapids' Community Crawls this summer was held on a perfect night as people walked from business to business collecting free samples and giveaways.

This is the 4th year for the Community Crawl (formerly called "Ladies' Night Out") which gives local businesses a chance to better connect with the people of Sauk Rapids.

"It's a pretty good time," says Madeline Kruse of Sauk Rapids Liquor. "You get your friends together, walk around and get some free stuff."

Each Community Crawl event has its own theme, with this week's being "Storm Night" -- celebrating Sauk Rapids by wearing its school colors of green and gold.

"It's kind of like one big block party, this is a tight-knit community -- you walk down the street and you're going to run into people you know -- everyone knows each other here."

If you missed this month's Community Crawl, don't worry -- more crawls will be held in July, August and September.
