BURNSVILLE (AP) — Authorities are investigating the discovery of human remains that were found in a Burnsville park.

Police say Sunday that a man was walking with his dog through Murphy Hanrahan Park on Saturday when he found the remains.

Burnsville police, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating and working on identifying the remains.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing, but the remains may be those of a 61-year-old man who went missing from his home near the park a year ago.
