SCHROEDER, Minn. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a Minneapolis area teenager from a river in northeastern Minnesota.

Cook County sheriff's officials say the body of 18-year-old Alec Lawrenz of Wayzata was recovered Monday afternoon from the Temperance River.

The dispatch center received a 911 call Saturday evening that Lawrenz had fallen into the gorge at Temperance River State Park. Authorities say the swimmer went through the strong current under a bridge and did not resurface.

Efforts to find his body were hampered by the strong river current, limited visibility under the water and debris.

The investigation continues but authorities say foul play is not suspected.
