BUFFALO (AP) — Authorities have recovered the bodies of two snowmobilers who fell through the ice on Lake Charlotte in Wright County.

Authorities got a call late Saturday from witnesses who said the snowmobilers went through the ice. They searched until 3 a.m. Sunday, then stopped for a few hours before resuming the search Sunday morning.

Officials used sonar to find the bodies of the men, ages 19 and 21, on Sunday afternoon.

Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty says the men were found at the bottom of the lake, in about 45 feet of water. They were apparently heading to a friend's cabin when they hit open water on the lake.
