When someone mentions modern day blues guitarists, few forget to add Kenny Wayne Shepherd into that conversation. Still barely in his 30's, KWS has forged a sound that captures the legendary blues-men of the 60's and 70's with modern lyrical emotion. Remember the first time you heard that riff in Blue on Black? Or the quick trigger fretboard work on In 2 Deep? What is shock or amazement striking you with the discovery that this was a young blues master of only 19 years old?

Kenny Wayne has had an amazing career and he talked with us this morning on The Pete & Doug Show. He told us about his influential meeting with legendary blues-rocker Stevie Ray Vaughn when he was just 7 years old. A meeting that changed the direction of his life.

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is performing at The Medina Entertainment Center this Friday night at 7pm.  Also on the bill is special guest and Minnesota favorite, Corey Stevens.
