CLARKFIELD (AP) - Details are emerging about a shooting that happened while a Minnesota woman was being questioned about two dead newborns found in eastern South Dakota.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says it happened Tuesday in Clarkfield. Members of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and a Brookings, S.D., police officer were questioning the 34-year-old woman when she pulled out a gun and pointed it at herself.

One of the agents and the officer struggled with the woman. The gun discharged, but no one was hurt.

The remains of two newborns were found Nov. 2 in a rural shelterbelt near Astoria, S.D.

The BCA says the woman has not been charged. Authorities are continuing to evaluate possible charges.
