AVON -- Authorities are investigation a barn fire believed to be caused by burning brush.

The Stearns County Sheriff's office and Avon Fire Department responded to a barn fire at 17885 County Road 9 in Collegeville Township just after 8:00 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday).

Deputies say the fire was contained to the hay loft of the barn and cause minimal damage.

The barn belonged to Diana Holsinger of Avon.

All animals in the barn escaped without injuries.

Deputies believe the fired started from a neighbor burning a brush pile. They believe wind to be a factor in the fire.

The Sheriff's Office is reminding you to check the DNR website before burning to make sure there are not burning restrictions. Anything larger than a small recreational fire requires a burning permit.

The fire is still under investigation.
