Sartell Students sang "Happy Birthday" to the late Tom Bearson early in the second half of the Sabres' 50-37 boys basketball win over the visiting Tech Tigers. Tuesday would have been Bearson's 19th birthday.

The Denver Nuggets sent the Timberwolves to their 12th straight loss Monday night with a 110-102 win at Target Center. The loss drops the Wolves to 5-28 on the season, and just 3-14 on their home court.

The Tech Tigers boys basketball team saw their five game winning streak snapped Tuesday night in a 56-51 loss to St. Michael-Albertville at Buffalo High School. Jake Mussman led the Tigers with 21 points in the loss. Elsewhere, the Cathedral Crusaders finished their holiday tournament 0-2 with a 63-55 overtime loss to Litchfield.
