Annandale Food Shelf Receives Large Donation, Will Grow in 2012

ANNADALE - The Annandale Food Shelf will see a very large expansion, thanks to generous community funding.

The volunteer-run operation recently received funding totaling more than $162,000 fopr the construction of a new building. This donation total spiked after a $150,000 grant from the Morgan Family Foundation.

Food shelf volunteers say community need has sharply increased in recent years, and the current building can't handle the volume of families using the services.

The new building was announced last night. It is expected to be completed in September of 2012.
