COON RAPIDS (AP) - Anoka County sheriff's officials say new charges are expected against a man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that has now taken the life of a passenger.

Twenty-year-old Brandyn Syverson died over the weekend from injuries suffered in the Nov. 23 crash. Investigators say Syverson and another person were passengers in a car driven by 19-year-old Kyle Wold. Authorities say the three had just left a party where Wold drank alcohol.

Wold was charged last week with three counts of criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm.  Court documents say Wold was sitting on the side of the road after the crash and when officers arrived he admitted to being intoxicated and asked to be arrested.

A message left for Wold's attorney was not immediately returned.
