Amelia Mary Deglman, age 77, of Princeton, MN, passed away peacefully Monday, September 1st, 2014 at the Princeton Elim Home. She was born on October 25, 1936, in Opstead, MN the daughter of Carl and Mary (Washburn) Reibestein. Amelia grew up by Opstead on the family farm and in 1954 she graduated from Isle High School as valedictorian of her class. She attended 2 years of college at St. Benedicts in St. Joseph, MN. On June 22, 1957 Amelia was united in marriage to George Earl Deglman in Wahkon, MN. To this union, 9 children were born. The couple made their home on Amelia’s family farm in Opstead for many years then moved to a farm near Princeton, MN and have lived here since.

Amelia was very active in Christ Our Light Catholic Church and taught Catechism classes for over 30 years. She was a social person and enjoyed spending her free time volunteering. She also enjoyed reading, photography, genealogy, crocheting, sewing, gardening and traveling. Most important of all was family. This was Amelia’s true pride and joy. She will be missed dearly by many.

Amelia is survived by her husband, George E.; children, George C. (Debra) Deglman, Mary (Ron) Struffert, Laura (Michael) Orton, Frank J. Deglman, Catherine (Gordon) Garbacz, Joseph E. (Wanda) Deglman, John D. (Tammi) Deglman, Annette (Onesimus) Kudadjie, and Brian P. Deglman; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Frank W. Reibestein and Theresa A. Kronbauer.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish – North Campus in Princeton. Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 from 4-7 PM, at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish-North Campus with a prayer service beginning at 7PM. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery, Princeton.
