Alice May Harris, 86, Sauk Rapids

October 31, 1928 - January 10, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Alice May Harris, age 86, who passed away Saturday with her family at her side at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery, Sauk Rapids. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Alice Harris was born in Sherburne County to Theodore and Mary (Struffert) Schimanski. She married Gilford E. Harris on June 30, 1953 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm. Alice lived most of her life in Sauk Rapids and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked at Comfort Inn and Americana Inn before retiring.

Survivors include sons, daughters and spouses, Corliss Harris and Donald Harris both of St. Cloud, Patty & Bill Platz, Mark & Patty Harris, Brenda & Jerry Robak all of Sauk Rapids, Shirley & Mike Gill of Royalton; sister, Rose Jaeger of Waite Park; sister-in-law, Arvilla Roering; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilford; sisters, Leona Landwehr, Anne Peirick, Bernice Zapf and Magdeline Schimanski; brother, George Schimanski; and grandchild, George Harris.
