ALBANY -- Recent snowfall has pushed back the closing of a state highway in Albany.

Highway 238 was to be closed starting tomorrow but that was delayed until Monday, April 22nd.

Highway 238 will will close between First and Fifth Street. It will remain closed through late July.  There will be signage directing traffic through a detour.

A second phase of the project will close Highway 238 from Eighth Street to Fifth Street from late July through early August. Detours will again be posted.

The closure is necessary for upgrades to power utilities, roadway lighting, curbs and gutters and underground utilities.
