ST. CLOUD -- A long-awaited resurfacing project in south St. Cloud will get started Tuesday.

Road crews will begin by milling off the old pavement on 9th Avenue South and Clearwater Road from 4th Street South to about 200 feet south of 22nd Street South. Crews will then lay new pavement on that stretch causing some lane reductions and slowdowns.

Lanes will be intermittently closed and traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone where traffic will be reduced to one lane for both directions. The road work will also close some non-signalized side street intersections during this time.

You should seek out alternate routes or expect minor delays.

The work is expected to be completed by mid-October.
