90 Crashes On Slippery Minnesota Roads

ST. PAUL (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says snow and slick roads have led to 90 crashes across the state — a number that could grow as a winter weather advisory remained in effect.

The State Patrol says that as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, there were 90 crashes statewide, including one that was fatal and 22 that included injuries. Fifty-six crashes involved vehicles leaving the road or spinning out, and most were in southern Minnesota where roads were slippery.

The weather was not a factor in the fatal crash, which happened Thursday morning just south of Rochester.

The Twin Cities area was expected to see anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow Thursday, with areas like Albert Lea and Rochester predicted to get 5 to 6 inches.
