8-Year-Old Dies In Scooter Crash

NEW GERMANY (AP) - An 8-year-old boy riding a scooter in New Germany has been struck and killed by a car.

Authorities say Lorenzo Cotto, of Brooklyn Park, was at a family birthday party and was on his scooter when he was hit by a car on Highway 33 Saturday. The boy was rushed to Ridgeview Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
