FOLEY -- Benton County has a big construction project planned for this season that has taken years to get going. The County Road 3/Second Street project in Sauk Rapids, also known as "3 Up the Hill", will begin in late May or early June and will last the entire summer.

Benton County Engineer Chris Byrd says they are widening County Road 3 from Second Avenue North in downtown Sauk Rapids to Highway 10.

Traffic will be impacted at various times throughout the completion of the project. However, the first phase of the project will be construction work outside of the traffic lanes and won't disrupt traffic until later this summer.

Byrd says other construction projects consist mainly of road resurfacing.
