2 Women Die In Apparent Drownings In Western Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Two women are dead after apparent drownings in the western Minneapolis suburbs.
The first happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the southeastern side of Long Lake in Orono. Hennepin County sheriff's deputies, Orono police and Long Lake firefighters were dispatched to Summit Park Beach for a medical emergency involving a woman. Emergency responders tried to revive the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
About a half-hour later, emergency crews were called to Crystal Bay on Lake Minnetonka about a 36-year-old woman missing in the water. Deputies recovered her body around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Names of the victims were not immediately released.
