Salzer and his partners will be opening their “Old Capital Tavern” in late May.  He says they’ve gutted the whole building and are in the process of creating a 1920′s style tavern.  They’re also bringing it back to it’s original purpose, when it was built in 1915 it was a bar, but it closed during prohibition.  The building has had a variety of other uses since then, including: a car dealership and a flower shop.

Salzer says they’ll be opening in late May.  He says they’ll specialize in craft beers.

Salzer says they plan to have acoustic music on some nights.  They’ll be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. seven days a week.

Salzer used to own the Tavern on Germain in downtown St. Cloud.
