BLOOMING PRAIRIE (AP) — Authorities say an all-terrain vehicle crash has killed one man and injured another in southern Minnesota.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday in Blooming Prairie. Police Chief Greg Skillestad says 32-year-old Nathan McFarland of Austin was driving the ATV when he struck a tree.

Attempts to revive McFarland failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Kevin Maday, was treated for a broken nose, cracked ribs and cuts and bruises.

Both men worked for a motorcycle shop in Blooming Prairie and were moving the ATV when the crash happened.

The crash remains under investigation, but the police chief says there did not seem to be any mechanical issues with the ATV.
