ST. CLOUD -- The Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center celebrated the grand opening of Gallery St. Germain tonight (Friday).

The gallery is located across from the Paramount in the Regency Plaza building along St. Germain.

It currently displays artwork from local artists in its first exhibit called Artist Guide of Central Minnesota.

The new gallery is made possible by a two-year $110,000 grant from the McKnight Foundation.

Visual Arts director, Melissa Gohman says it's nice to have a space dedicated to art.

The space will be dedicated to paintings, sculptures and other works of art by local Minnesota artists.

In the coming months the Visual Arts Center will be partnering with the United Way to bring in a traveling photography exhibit called Homeless Is My Address Not My Name.
