ST. CLOUD - The MnSCU Board of Trustees have approved a proposed land swap between St. Cloud State University and the city of St. Cloud.

However, after consulting with the Minnesota Attorney General's office, it was determined a land exchange is not viable. Instead the MnSCU chancellor will pursue a sale of the George Friedrich park property, and also buying the three city properties.

The park property is appraised at $328,000, while the city land is appraised at $294,000.

The St. Cloud city council approved the land swap during their meeting on Monday night.
