ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Fire Department responded to a home on fire in the 600 block of 6th Avenue South last (Wednesday) night.

Battalion Chief Jerry Raymond says crews were called out at about 6:45 p.m. and found a back porch to the home fully engulfed. The blaze had moved through the ceiling and into the attic.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control and keep it from spreading. They cleared the scene at 8:40 p.m.

Raymond says no one was home at the time and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and a preliminary damage estimate is listed at a minimum of $30,000.
