Ex-Minnesota Girls Basketball Coach Pleads Guilty
ST. CLOUD (AP) - Prosecutors have reached a plea deal with one of two former girls' basketball coaches at a Minnesota high school accused of fondling two players in 2009.
Thirty-four-year-old Andrew Schwan pleaded guilty Monday to misconduct of a public officer or employee, a gross misdemeanor.
Under the agreement, Schwan must serve a maximum of 10 days in jail, register as a predatory offender for 10 years and have no contact with the players.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 5.
Schwan and 30-year-old Darrin Myhre were coaches at Lake Park Audubon High School. The two were accused of offering the 17-year-old girls alcohol and fondling them at a hotel in St. Cloud, where the team was staying during a tournament.
Myhre's jury trial is set to begin Dec. 12.
