ST. CLOUD -- Grab your partner and do-si-do with the Beaux and Belle's Square Dance Club.

Tuesday is National Square Dance Day. Tom Allen is the caller for the Beaux and Belle's and says it's a great social event for all ages.

"It's a physical exercise, it's a mental exercise because you have to listen to the calls and it's a real social activity," says Allen.

Allen says square dancing can intimidate people at first but once you understand a few calls you will catch on quickly.

"You can go anywhere in the world and dance and the calls are all the same," says Allen.

One of the biggest country's for square dancing is Japan. Tom's wife, Sally Allen says if you're a fan of any type of music you will like square dancing.

"People should try it. There is such a variety of music. If you like different types of music you will like square dancing," says Sally Allen.

The group meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Whitney Senior Center.
